WASHINGTON, Ariz. — The Washington Elementary School District Governing Board on Dec. 11 awarded the superintendent search contract (RFP 25Dot017) to McPherson and Jacobson LLC after the board’s selection subcommittee reviewed five proposals.
President Kyle Clayton summarized the committee’s scoring rubric and rationale, saying the vendor offered a "robust timeline and methodology" and noting the firm’s two‑year guarantee: "if the superintendent chosen does not stay in the position for two years, they will complete another search for just our actual expenses," Clayton said.
The committee tabulation considered cost (36 points), the firm’s method and timeline (25 points), experience/reliability (15), key personnel (15) and responsiveness. Procurement staff screened five proposals; the committee recommended McPherson and Jacobson based on the rubric and the firm’s record of completed searches.
Board member Mister Adams thanked procurement staff for their work. After a motion and second, the board approved the award by voice vote.
What happens next: procurement staff will complete contract paperwork and coordinate the search subcommittee’s next steps with the vendor. The selection includes a two‑year replacement guarantee if a hired superintendent leaves within that period.
