District administrators briefed trustees on Nov. 6 about formative assessment data, projected performance goals, and new tools for tracking seniors’ progress toward graduation.
Dr. Gray reviewed district goals tied to STAR and end‑of‑course exams, saying the district aims for multi‑year improvements through 2029. "By 2029, scores at the approaches level will increase from 80% to 90%, from 56% to 71% at the meets level, and from 26% to 41% at the master's level," Dr. Gray said while walking trustees through DPM and RIT/ARM tracking for early grades.
Trustees noted areas of year‑to‑date progress. One trustee observed that students who previously were below benchmarks showed 2% gains in multiple categories and praised targeted summer school and professional development as likely contributors.
For high‑school graduation tracking, assistant superintendents described a new snapshot reporting process to identify seniors who are on or off track. The district reported a class‑of‑2024 graduation rate of 93.7% and said an Aug. 28, 2025 snapshot showed 86% of the current cohort on track and 14% receiving interventions.
Administrators said interventions include counseling collaboration, individualized graduation plans and campus‑level swap/share of best practices. They will report progress to the board again in March 2026.
What’s next: staff will continue monthly monitoring and return cumulative end‑of‑year metrics to show whether annual growth targets have been met.
