A public commenter who identified herself as Carley Hale told the Cypress‑Fairbanks ISD board during the Nov. 6 work session that she has been assaulted by students multiple times, is medically unable to return to work, and is owed wages.
"My name is Carley Hale, and I want to protest that my name ever be going on a list of people that I'll never be able to hire it again," Hale said. She described multiple assaults to the head and said she has not been cleared to return to work; she also said the district withheld paycheck amounts she believes were improper and that her requested accommodations were denied.
Hale asked how to pursue unpaid wages and who to contact about the employment listing and repeated that she had followed district policies, including not cashing workers‑compensation checks, while awaiting medical clearance.
The board thanked Hale for her comments and closed the public‑comment slot; there was no on‑the‑record staff response to resolve the specific payroll or personnel concerns during the open session.
What’s next: Hale’s statements were on the public record. The board indicated personnel and contract matters on the agenda would be discussed in closed session later in the meeting, but no public remedy was recorded during the work session.
