The Victor Central School District Board voted to approve several routine items and directed staff to investigate five ideas presented by a community partner group aimed at increasing revenue and reducing costs.
The board approved consent agenda items A–O by voice vote and carried a motion to adopt Policy 5300 (Code of Conduct) on a first and final reading after a motion by Tim. The board also approved a trip for the varsity winter guard to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for a regional competition (March 20–22) and then moved to discuss the community partner proposals.
Superintendent Dr. Terranova outlined five ideas from the community partner group: legacy and major gift fundraising; other revenue streams; educational program partnerships; community education/program partnerships; and energy and facilities initiatives. Board members broadly supported pursuing all five through subcommittees and asked staff to coordinate with the district cabinet and the Education Foundation to assess feasibility, level of effort and legal constraints.
Board members suggested prioritization options (one member emphasized energy/facilities, including potential solar on district roofs) and recommended including community members, staff and students in subcommittees. The superintendent said he would report back to the board on progress and suggested the groups begin work in February if the board approves the approach.
Votes at a glance: consent items approved (motion carried), Policy 5300 approved (motion by Tim; carried), varsity winter guard trip approved (motion carried). No roll‑call tallies were recorded in the transcript; all votes were announced as carried.
