During the announcements period at the Dec. 4 meeting, council members highlighted a series of community events and volunteer opportunities for the holidays.
Council member Harrell said the Equity Alliance will host a Feed the Block event from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton United Methodist Church, 3105 Hamilton Church Road, offering hot meals "of course, while our food lasts" and invited families and neighbors to attend. Council Member Taylor recognized Alpha Phi Fraternity Incorporated for 119 years of service.
An unidentified council member promoted a final 2025 town hall on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at 469 Chestnut Street, and announced a toy drive for children ages 0–17. Council member Greg invited the public to the Donaldson Hermitage Christmas parade on Saturday at 4 p.m., which travels along Donaldson Pike to Lebanon Pike.
Pro Tem reiterated recurring Feed the Block locations and schedules (including weekly sites in Clarksville and North Nashville) and listed neighborhood holiday events: Bellevue parade (Dec. 6, 10 a.m., starting at Bellevue Middle School), Antioch Pike parade (Dec. 7, 3:30 p.m., starting at McCombs Avenue), and the Christmas in Jolten parade (Dec. 13, 4 p.m., along Whites Creek Pike between First Baptist Church and Gifford Place). Pro Tem named council points of contact for these events (Wiener/Spain, Vaux, Webb, Kimbrough).
The Pro Tem thanked council volunteers who assisted at Second Harvest Food Bank and said another December volunteer opportunity will be scheduled. Pro Tem also said Senior Ride Nashville (seniorridenashville.org/volunteer) is recruiting volunteer drivers to provide transportation for older adults in Davidson County.
Council member Wiener added details on the Bellevue parade (roughly 9:30–11:30 a.m., route down Highway 70 to Sawyer Brown) and closed by inviting people to attend. The Pro Tem then closed the announcement period and moved to the next agenda item.
