The Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment Agency voted 3–2 on Dec. 10 to approve a term lease for a marina restaurant, setting rent at $30 per square foot.

Commissioners discussed a market rate analysis and whether a two‑mile radius was an appropriate comparables set. Executive Director Jadel Murcias presented staff's market review and recommended a rate in the high‑$20s per square foot; the board amended a staff motion to set the figure at $30. "I'm in my motion to go 30," said the motion's sponsor.

Public commenters praised the current operator's service at the marina, while several commissioners said their objections were procedural or fiscal rather than personal. Vice Chair Miller Anderson and Chair Lanier voted against the amended lease rate; three commissioners voted in favor.

Staff said the remaining term sheet details (square footage rates and termination provisions) would be finalized administratively and returned to the board as required. The lease contains a short‑term cancellation clause that commissioners noted could affect market pricing.
