At the December meeting the board voted on several procurement and personnel items:
- Specialty fabrication: The board approved Paul Matthews Services for specialty fabrication and repair work based on lower hourly rates compared with an alternate bidder.
- On-call utility services: After comparing three bids under a scenario analysis (12,000-lb excavator, laborer, operator), the board awarded on-call utility services to D and D Excavating LLC as the lowest responsive bidder.
- Mini Park RFP: The board authorized an RFP to remove the Mini Park kiddie area and prepare the site for future work; members recommended scheduling for spring construction and charging the expense to the parks capital fund.
- Independent audit RFP: The board voted to issue an RFP for an independent fiscal audit covering FY 2024–25 with a public bid opening scheduled for Feb. 3 (noon); members discussed audit frequency and the possibility of an audit committee to provide interim oversight.
- Appointment: The board appointed Adam Fitzpatrick as full-time highway working supervisor at $28/hour with a 90-day probation; after successful completion, his salary will increase to $30/hour and he will be eligible for benefits.
All motions were approved by voice vote where recorded. Contracts will be finalized in subsequent written agreements and formal contracts to be returned for individual signatures as needed.
