The Village of Rhinebeck board approved amendments to its credit‑card policy after finance staff incorporated state controller guidance and local clarifications.

Rick and Lydia reviewed the revised draft and said the substantive changes were the addition of a purpose statement and a five‑day deadline for submitting transaction documentation to the treasurer, to align with credit‑card cycles. "All documentation must be submitted to the treasurer within 5 days of the transaction," a board member read from the proposed amendment.

The amended policy is intended to reduce misuse risk while allowing limited card use for recurring vendor charges such as the village’s website services. The board voted to replace the posted draft with the 11/24/25 version that contains the new language and approved the amended policy at the meeting.
