The Marion County Board of Commissioners reappointed Denise to the county budget committee on Dec. 10 for a term ending June 30, 2028.

Sherry Lindner, volunteer services coordinator for Marion County, introduced Denise and described her as one of three citizen members who serve alongside three elected county commissioners to review and adopt the county budget. "Denise is one of three citizen members that serve alongside our three elected county commissioners to review and adopt our budget for Marion County," Lindner said.

Denise, who said she has served on the committee since about 2017, thanked the board and said she values the committee’s role in understanding and shaping county spending. Commissioner Kevin Cameron moved to reappoint Denise; the chair seconded and the motion passed on a voice vote.

The board noted that the budget committee schedule was moved up this year and invited Denise and other members of the public to attend department budget hearings in March for more detailed presentations and discussion.

The reappointment takes effect immediately and runs through June 30, 2028.
