At its Dec. 10 meeting the Kane County Administration Committee approved several administrative and procurement measures, including a personnel reallocation, a professional services contract, a budget adjustment and vehicle purchases.

Charles Lasky of the county IT department explained a proposal to move an existing position from Building Management into IT to serve as a building security director. "It's basically moving a position from building management to IT," Lasky said, adding the reclassification does not increase headcount or the overall budget; he described the move as an internal reallocation approved by HR. Committee members asked about salary details and whether project‑management duties would be covered; Lasky said the salary difference was roughly a 10% increase in base pay and that remaining project work would be absorbed as ARPA projects wind down. The committee approved the GL change resolution on a roll call vote.

The committee also approved a $55,710 professional‑services contract with Kluber Architects and Engineers for construction administration on kitchen and laundry renovations at the Kane County Adult Justice Center. Kevin Harris (Building Management) described the fee as "about 2.6% of the value of the project," noting that construction administration fees typically range 5%–15% depending on project scope; the committee approved the contract by roll call.

Finance staff and the director explained a resolution to adjust the Mill Creek Special Service Area budget to reflect a tax‑levy increase. Director Bonsstock said revenue and expense lines tied to the levy were not included in the originally adopted budget; the committee approved a $634,984 adjustment to align accounting with the tax levy.

Finally the committee approved two vehicle purchases for the Kane County Sheriff's Office: a $53,101 replacement vehicle and a $71,421 van for the K‑9 unit, the latter to be paid from the new vehicle fund rather than the general fund. Both purchases were approved on roll call.
