Coffey County’s Planning and Zoning Administrator, Heidi Harris, asked the commission to renew a planning consultant contract with ALMA Company, PA (Russ Ue) to assist in administration of land-use regulations and related planning services.

The contract covers up to 20 hours per month at $150 per hour, effective Dec. 8, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2026, with funds to come from the general fund courthouse contractual line item. Harris explained the year-to-year arrangement allows flexibility for changes in scope. "So in case there's changes you guys would like to make, it's getting locked in for a year," she said.

Commissioner Abendroth moved to enter the contract; Barker seconded. The motion was approved by voice vote.

Next steps: County staff will execute the contract and notify staff and relevant departments of the consultant’s availability and points of contact.
