County staff reviewed a packet of regular bills at the Dec. 12 meeting, highlighting several large operating items and a delayed water-pump project.
Staff identified workers' compensation premiums and a roughly $170,000 quarterly invoice for the county’s Tyler Odyssey Justice software as major items on the general operating list. A staff member said Tyler charges about $56,000 per month on a standalone basis and the quarterly Justice invoice is substantial for the operating budget.
Separately, the judge and staff discussed a water project where the pump station had not yet begun dirt work, despite prior expectations of a June start; contractors have billed intermittently and the county has spent about $1.2 million so far on the project with additional funds remaining in the budget. Staff said equipment issues have delayed the pump-station build.
Commissioners asked staff to follow up with project managers and to ensure bills are being routed correctly for reimbursement where applicable. No votes or formal appropriations were taken at the meeting.
