The superintendent told the Fayetteville-Manlius Board of Education that construction on the district's $52,000,000 high-school capital improvement project continues, with contractors preparing swing spaces and utilities work to accommodate temporary science classrooms as the project progresses.
"Contractors are ensuring that utilities are being run for the 1st Floor swing spaces that will accommodate temporary science classrooms," the superintendent said, describing site work and phasing.
The superintendent also highlighted student recognition of interscholastic athletes and noted that the district will use the Panorama student-screening tool in the weeks ahead, replacing the BiMASS 2 screener previously used. A community survey tied to the annual report remains available via a QR code, and the superintendent said the deadline for responses has been extended to Dec. 19 to encourage broader input.
Board members asked about heating and paving issues tied to ongoing construction; administration described multiple distinct causes for recent heating disruptions and said fixes were underway, including relocating a problematic sensor. Discussions about paving timing and potential traffic/parking pattern changes at the high school are ongoing as part of project planning.
No vote was required for the update; the report was entered into the record.
