A district representative announced at the Coffee County Board of Education meeting on Dec. 11 that the board has again earned the Georgia School Board Association’s Exemplary Board Award, the organization’s highest recognition for governance.
The presenter said the award recognizes boards that demonstrate visionary leadership, fiscal accountability, strong policy development and meaningful community engagement. The representative named board members Brian Preston, Jesse Jowers, Leola Johnson, Jean Wade and Jacqueline Jowers as part of the accomplishment and presented a trophy the district received at the GSBA conference.
Board members and district staff were publicly thanked for their service to students and families in Coffee County. The presenter noted the recognition reflects ongoing governance practices and strategic planning across the district.
District staff said they were proud to celebrate the board’s achievement and displayed the trophy during the meeting.
