Coffee County Board approves consent agenda, moves Jan. 2026 meeting and accepts personnel recommendations

At its Dec. 11 meeting the Coffee County Board of Education approved several routine items and made a scheduling change for its 2026 meetings.

The board approved the consent agenda after a brief preview of items that included minutes from the November meeting; the financial report (discussed at a work session earlier the same evening); the purchase of playground equipment for the new West Green school (listed as "West Grama Green" in the transcript); a technology purchase for a firewall to enhance district cybersecurity; a policy update to policy GAN concerning employee tobacco use; and proposed 2026 meeting dates. After discussion the board agreed to amend the presented schedule so the January meeting will be held Jan. 29, 2026.

The presiding officer called for a vote to approve the consent agenda; the motion was seconded by Mister Johnson and the board voted "all in favor." District staff said the approved materials would be posted on the district website and made public.

The presiding officer announced there was no need for an executive session and that personnel recommendations had been presented. A motion to accept the personnel recommendations was moved by Miss White and seconded by Mister Gowers; the motion passed by voice vote.

No roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript. The meeting adjourned shortly afterward.
