The Riverside Local School District Board of Education voted Dec. 15, 2025 to appoint Robert Scott through the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve (ESCWR) to serve as interim superintendent, with service to begin Dec. 15, 2025.

The resolution sets the interim rate at $115.34 per hour, subject to a 6% administrative fee under the ESCWR master agreement, and specifies that reimbursement for expenses — including mileage, travel and meals — will be billed separately in accordance with board and ESCWR policies. The board’s appointment language expressly limits the interim superintendent’s authority to supporting day-to-day educational and operational functions and disallows making or implementing long-term decisions. The ESCWR may also establish additional terms under its master agreement.

The appointment was approved by unanimous roll call (Mister Fischel, Mister Keeney and Miss Brewster voting aye). The resolution states both the board and ESCWR retain the right to immediately terminate interim-superintendent services upon notice to the other party.

The board did not take any further personnel action at the meeting; expenses and any future permanent appointment, if pursued, would be subject to separate board decisions and applicable agreements.
