County staff told the Legislature they will apply for an infrastructure rebate tied to a prior Clean Energy Communities grant to recover roughly $40,000 for planned electric vehicle charging stations at Emerson Park.

"This was 40,000 that was already counted for in our revenue... the application window just finally opened for us to be able to apply," said Unidentified Speaker 7. Staff described the planned infrastructure as three physical charging stations, each with two points for a total of six ports, and said the stations would be under contract and are expected to be installed by June 1. Members clarified that installation and rebate rules generally require spending before reimbursement; staff confirmed that contractors and maintenance provisions are included in vendor contracts.

Staff also said the rooftop solar originally intended for the motor pool could not proceed because the motor-pool roof replacement is behind schedule; the county obtained state clearance to reallocate the solar component to a ground-mounted array near the park offices.
