Sherry Poole was recognized by acclamation as president of the Bossier Parish School Board for 2026 after placing her name for the office during the Dec. 4 meeting. Poole told the board she was “very humbled” and thanked members for their confidence in her leadership.

Logan McConathy was formally recognized as the board’s vice president for 2026 at the same meeting. The presiding officer congratulated both incoming leaders and said a ceremonial passing of the gavel will take place at the Jan. 15, 2026 meeting.

The elections were uncontested; Poole and McConathy will take office in January 2026 in accordance with the board’s stated calendar. No formal roll-call tallies were recorded in the public transcript; the board used its standard electronic voting process for routine motions during the meeting.

The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Jan. 15, 2026, at which the outgoing president will deliver final remarks and a reception will mark the leadership transition.
