The City of Palm Beach Gardens on Monday recognized the Gardens Tennis and Pickleball Center after it received national honors, including the 2025 USTA Outstanding Large Public Facility award and two recognitions from Sports Destination Management.
Charlotte, the leisure services administrator, told the council the center’s events draw international players and measurable local spending. “This event generated an estimated $1,690,000 for our local community in Northern Palm Beach County,” she said, referring to the Little Mo’s International Tennis Tournament. She added that the ITF Masters World Championship generated about $1,600,000 and attracts competitors from dozens of countries.
Staff and coaches on stage with Charlotte highlighted the center’s expanding programs — including wheelchair tennis supported by the USTA and partnerships with Palm Beach County Special Olympics — and credited staff leadership and operational management for sustaining tournaments and daily activity.
Why it matters: The center’s tournaments are a source of hotel-room nights, retail and restaurant spending, and regional sports‑tourism income, city leaders said. The awards underscore the facility’s role in drawing visitors to northern Palm Beach County and supporting local businesses.
Council members congratulated staff and encouraged public attendance at upcoming events, including the Little Mo’s International Tennis Tournament, which the presenter said opens with an International Parade of Nations.
