Pryor Creek council members recommended appointing Sherry Alexander to Economic Development Trust Authority (EDTA) seat number 7 and approved a reappointment for incumbent Adam Anderson to a four-year term.
At the meeting, Speaker 1 introduced the appointment of Sherry Alexander to fill the remainder of the term for seat 7; Speaker 4 moved to appoint Alexander and Speaker 3 seconded. The board voted to recommend the appointment, and the item will appear on the council agenda for final action. A resume and bio for Alexander were attached to the agenda packet.
The board then considered recommending council action to reappoint Adam Anderson as an EDTA trustee for an additional four-year term expiring Jan. 13, 2030. After discussion of trustee residency rules (the trust limits the board to three trustees who do not live within city limits), the motion to recommend Anderson’s reappointment was seconded and approved; one member, Miller, stated an abstention during the roll call.
Council members also discussed the seat that will become vacant when Scott Miller completes his second term on Jan. 13, 2026. Speaker 1 said the EDTA trust indenture requires trustees to step off for one year after two consecutive terms, and the board agreed to open recruitment and accept interest forms for that upcoming vacancy. The board directed staff to publish notices (Facebook and local newspapers were suggested) and to report back monthly on any applicants.
No additional formal actions were taken at today’s meeting on these appointments; the council will review and act on the EDTA recommendations at a subsequent council meeting.
