Council members used the meeting to coordinate several upcoming community events, including a reindeer 5K, a veterans casino night fundraiser and a town 20th anniversary celebration.
On the reindeer/5K run, Speaker 1 and colleagues said t-shirts and medals have been procured and that student volunteers will help. Speaker 3 confirmed bag-stuffing will take place Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Dec. 9 (11 a.m.–6 p.m.) as a backup. Speaker 2 said they would provide an updated runner count the following day and Speaker 6 noted a route walk-through would be conducted to confirm logistics.
Speaker 1 announced a Veterans Casino Night at Pace High School on Feb. 28; tickets were listed at $75 (with taxes and fees noted that would make the total roughly $88). Meals for the event are being donated by Casa Donna. Organizers were still clarifying whether alcoholic beverages would be available for purchase.
The council also previewed a 20th anniversary celebration set for Saturday from 4–8 p.m. that will feature live entertainment, a Scottish-themed petting zoo and a bagpipe band; Felicia was identified as the ad hoc committee chair for the event.
No votes or policy changes were tied to these event-planning updates; staff were assigned follow-up tasks such as confirming runner counts, finalizing bag-stuffing volunteer times and completing route checks.
