Parole reinstated for Glenn Branch in lieu of revocation pending substance‑abuse and domestic‑abuse treatment

Glenn Branch appeared Dec. 9 for a parole‑revocation hearing and pleaded guilty with explanation to a domestic‑battery–related charge and to falling behind on supervision fees.

The panel reviewed incident reports that described scratches on both parties and a police response; Branch stated he was intoxicated at the time and asked for leniency. Panel members discussed the history of supervision and prior noncompliance, noting repeated curfew and electronic‑monitoring problems in the record.

Rather than revoke parole, the board voted to reinstate Branch’s parole in lieu of revocation on the condition that he complete DOC substance‑abuse treatment and a domestic‑abuse program consistent with the Duluth model, and that he have no contact with the alleged victim. The board emphasized that future contact or violation would be grounds for revocation.

Branch was told to attend the required programs and reenter supervision with those conditions in place.
