Board members approved a motion to rescind the board resolution adopted Oct. 13 and to adopt a special election resolution after district staff reported that required legal notices and a press release were not filed on time.

"We self-reported. We recognized that we didn't do it," the superintendent told the board, explaining the missed filings and saying the district scheduled a special resolution to correct the filing period. He emphasized April 7 will remain the general election date but that the election filing period will be moved to January to ensure timely notice.

Speaker 12 moved to approve the rescission and special-resolution package; Speaker 11 seconded. The board approved the motion on a roll-call vote with affirmative responses recorded.

Board members framed the action as a procedural correction: no litigation or outside enforcement was reported in the meeting, and the district indicated the change was intended to remedy an internal filing oversight.
