Tooele County Council handled a series of 'consent and routine' items Dec. 9, approving an interlocal agreement with Lake Point, confirming temporary coverage in justice court, reappointing members to advisory boards and adopting the 2026 meeting calendar and leadership.
The council amended and approved a 2026 interlocal agreement with Lake Point to continue county policing, road and civil‑inspection services; staff were directed to remove references to "Lake Point City" and to instead refer to "Lake Point."
Council also adopted a resolution authorizing appointment of a temporary justice court judge to cover service after Judge Dow’s retirement; staff described plans to form a nominating commission to vet candidates and submit a recommended list for the county executive and council consideration.
Other actions approved by voice vote included routine approvals (minutes and check registry), the election to retain current chair and vice chair for 2026, adoption of a tentative 2026 meeting schedule with date adjustments for conferences, and several board appointments and reappointments, including Mike Rapich to the audit committee and Tyler Guy to the tourism tax advisory board.
All actions described here were taken on the record during the Dec. 9 meeting and will be reflected in posted meeting minutes and adopted resolutions.
