Franklin County commissioners approved a $6,563,449.82 contract with Shelly and Sands Inc. for the East Cook Road corridor reconstruction (Carl Road to Cleveland Avenue), a county engineer presentation said Dec. 9.

Nick Sulis, speaking on behalf of the county engineer, said the contract includes corridor reconstruction and infrastructure upgrades such as new sidewalks and shared-use paths. Sulis said six bids were received and Shelly and Sands submitted the lowest responsive bid. Funding sources cited included MORPC-attributable funds and OPDC funding.

Approval authorizes the county to execute the contract and move forward with planned improvements along the corridor.

The board adopted Resolution 94025 authorizing award and contract bond to Shelly and Sands Inc.
