An unnamed staff member described the agenda item as "the planning commission's annual opportunity to provide input, on that process, which will be forwarded to city council." Commissioners were asked to submit any feedback tied to the attachment; none was offered during public comment.

Commissioner Pine moved to "receive the code of ethics and conduct for elected and appointed officials as presented in Attachment 1 to the report." Vice Chair Shukla seconded. Commissioner Pine said the code had been revised recently by the City Council and that he saw no reason to reopen those changes. "I'm just gonna go ahead and move alternative 1, receive the code of ethics and conduct for elected and appointed officials as presented in attachment 1 to the report," he said. Vice Chair Shukla said she had "nothing more to add" and called the document a good model.

The presiding officer called for a vote. The recording officer announced, "The motion passes with 7 yeses and Commissioner Davis absent." That tally is recorded in the meeting transcript but conflicts with an earlier roll-call statement that two commissioners (Davis and Fagone) were absent and five were present; the transcript's vote language is noted as inconsistent in the record.

Staff said the commission's recommendation would be noted for the City Council, which will hold a public hearing next year; no date has been set. The meeting adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
