The Board of Licenses and the City Council held public hearings and approved multiple license requests during the Dec. 10 meeting.
Jackson Barrows was granted a tattoo license (TAT-25-4) for Ink Lab Tattoo at 500 Armistice Boulevard after the applicant described 14 years’ industry experience, single-operator plans and disposable single-use supplies. No public opposition was recorded.
The council also approved a Class B victualler transfer with outdoor seating and entertainment to Fire Cantina Grill, Inc., at 176 Columbus Avenue (LQB-25-20), a transfer from the Roast House establishment. Applicants said they will operate seven days a week with varying hours, and managers confirmed TIPS/tip certification and other required training.
Another transfer approved was for the Modern Diner site (LQB-25-21) to VJR Baraka LLC at 364 East Avenue; applicants and supporters said they would retain the diner’s character, keep much of the staff, and maintain established hours. Councilors thanked the applicants for preserving long-standing neighborhood businesses.
All hearings closed without public opposition and motions to approve passed by voice or roll-call as recorded in the minutes.
