The Durant City Council on Dec. 9 approved a series of planning items including a preliminary plat for a single‑family Phase 2 subdivision near Linenwoods Drive and 1st Avenue, replat requests for properties near West Pine Street & North 4th Avenue and West Mulberry Street & North 11th Avenue, and a conditional use permit for a CrossFit gym in the Dale Goad Industrial addition.
Raven Bates of the community development department introduced the preliminary plat; staff said the proposed lots had been adjusted so the buildable lots are not in the flood zone and that Planning and Zoning recommended approval 5‑0. Applicants for the replat items explained driveway approaches and lot configuration and the council approved both replats by roll call. Planning and Zoning also recommended approval of the conditional use permit for a gym and the council approved that item after noting a minor location typo in the materials.
Separately, the council paused the City Council agenda to convene the Durant City Utilities Authority and the Durant Airport Authority. Each authority had a single consent item (meeting minutes and related prior actions) that trustees approved before adjourning; the council then returned to regular session and adjourned the City Council meeting.
