Norwalk Area Chamber reports membership gains and launches 'Enjoy Norwalk' tourism brand

Mel Gonsi, executive director of the Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce, presented a brief year-in-review to council on Dec. 4 and thanked the city for its support. Gonsi said the chamber’s membership reached 248 year-to-date, representing 46 new members and a 109% increase over last year; the group also recorded 26 ribbon-cuttings, a 160% increase.
Gonsi described the "Enjoy Norwalk" tourism brand, which aggregates pages for Norwalk and nearby communities and includes business directory listings and QR card placement in local hotels. To drive holiday traffic the chamber is running a "Jolly Holiday Bingo" program that encourages residents to visit participating businesses.
Council thanked Gonsi for the report and increased the time allocation for future chamber updates.
