The Newton City Commission recognized finalists in the Harvey County Constitution Contest and thanked organizers and judges.

Mike Fellows, who represents the contest, said the program is in its third year and this year had 17 entrants and five finalists. He thanked commissioners Leroy and Kathy for serving as judges and noted organizers hope to expand teacher and school participation across county high schools. One finalist, Zoe Hoskinson, a Newton High School senior, spoke about the educational value of the contest and thanked organizers for the opportunity.

Commissioners praised the program and encouraged ongoing support; Fellows said he will return in May as the contest continues to grow.
