The Florence City Planning Commission approved a sketch plan for Cypress Pointe, a proposed townhome subdivision of 44 units at the South Cashew Drive / 2nd Loop Road area during its December meeting. City staff presented the plan and the commission voted to adopt the sketch plan after no public hearing or further discussion.

City staff (Mr. Johnson) told commissioners the project covers roughly 3.8 acres and “This will be 44 units in total.” He said the site is zoned C 6.3, is consistent with the city’s future land-use map and “meets all the townhome guidelines from the Unified Development Ordinance.” Staff also stated that city water and sewer are available, that the project will be inspected under the city’s MS4 construction inspection requirements, and that infrastructure within the development will be maintained by the developer and subsequently by an HOA.

With no public hearing, the chair asked for a motion to adopt the sketch plan; a motion was made and seconded, and the chair called for the vote.
