The Cotati City Council voted to adopt the Veronda Floodi Ranch 2026 work plan and to authorize a three‑year license agreement with Agriculture to operate livestock, horticulture, compost and related programs at the ranch. The council also authorized the city manager to amend Sandy Loam's license to align term dates and minor provisions, subject to final city‑attorney approval.
Staff described the joint work plan as a continuation and expansion of recent programming with a mix of paid, low‑cost and free offerings. Estimated total expenditures for 2026 are $324,000 with projected revenue of roughly $180,000, producing an anticipated municipal net contribution of $143,000. Staff noted the proposed plan raises cost recovery from about 20% in the current year to just over 50% under the draft plan and highlighted specific program elements such as expanded CSA boxes, an enlarged chicken flock and an outreach plan for school field trips and teen apprenticeships.
Representatives from Agriculture (Bryce) and Sandy Loam were present in the chamber to answer council questions about programming, youth engagement and pest/animal management. Council approved the resolution on a unanimous voice vote.
