The Easly City Council approved a package of routine and substantive actions including property conveyance, rezoning, road acceptance and two planning‑commission appointments.
In unfinished business, the council enacted Ordinance 20 25 14 to authorize conveyance of all interests in property at 201 and 205 South 5th Street in Pickens County. Council members noted the item had been discussed previously in work sessions before the second reading and vote.
In new business, council approved Ordinance 20 25 15, the first reading and vote to rezone approximately 1.97 acres on the east side of Hamilton Street (tax map 501911578031) from General Commercial (GC) to General Residential (GR1). Council discussion at the work session had already reviewed the site map and compliance requirements.
Resolution 20 25 19 to accept certain roads from developer JBDY 1 LLC into the city roads network was approved; staff confirmed the roads met city standards and a one‑year warranty applies from the developer. Councilman Jim Robinson recused from the vote because his firm has rendered legal services to the developer.
Council appointed Jim Walker to the Easly City Planning Commission to fill an unexpired term through Dec. 31, 2025, and also approved a three‑year term for Walker beginning Jan. 1, 2026 and expiring Dec. 31, 2028. The council also appointed Hilary Coster to the Planning Commission to fill a vacancy.
Following those actions the council moved to adjourn.
