State Veterans Homes staff told the Joint Interim Committees Thursday the Adkins State Veterans Home reconstruction is progressing and a contract is in place to oversee final work.

Kim Justice, speaking for the Department of Veterans Affairs, presented an architectural contract valued at $627,500 to oversee completion of the Adkins State Veterans Home after a fire. "It's going. I was there yesterday. They're making a lot of progress. We're tracking on time. We should open in September," Justice said.

Committee members thanked staff for their diligence; no objections were recorded in the transcript. The contract will fund architectural oversight to complete repairs and ensure the facility meets safety and operational standards before reopening.
