Tammy Trent was elected chair of the Humboldt County Measure Z Citizens Advisory Committee on Dec. 4, winning a roll-call vote after being nominated and seconded.
The committee also elected Dylan as vice chair following a nomination and a second. Both leadership votes were recorded by roll call and returned unanimous "yes" votes from members present and participating remotely. The committee had discussed whether to elect leaders annually or for two-year terms and chose annual elections for now.
The committee approved the Measure Z meeting calendar for the coming cycle. Staff said the next committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 15; the application period for Measure Z funding will open the following day and run for four weeks through Feb. 13, with committee review of applications planned to begin the week of Feb. 26.
In addition to the leadership and calendar items, the committee passed a motion directing the chair and vice chair to work with the county administrative officer's budget team to prepare spending-plan options for the committee's January meeting. The motion passed by voice vote.
The meeting included routine procedural items (approval of the March 6, 2025 minutes, and public-comment openings that produced no speakers). The meeting adjourned after the votes.
"That was easy," one committee member said after the leadership votes, and the chair closed the meeting shortly thereafter.
