Hamilton County Council approved a slate of board and commission appointments and finalized council liaison assignments at its Dec. 3 meeting.
An unidentified council member moved to approve multiple appointments, including Michael Colby to the Alcohol and Beverage Board; Carlton Mills to zoning appeals; Rachel Quaid, Chase Burton, Jeff Apple and Joe Plankus to various economic development boards; Brad Beaver and Mark Hall to the Hamilton County Redevelopment Commission; and Lisa Haney and Marietta Masalami to the Visitor and Convention Commission. The motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote.
Council also approved internal liaison and committee assignments: for example, Brad Beaver as liaison to Solid Waste and Aviation; Steve Nation as council parliamentarian; Tim Griffin for Emergency Management Advisory Council; Sue Mackey for Extension Services; Amy Masalami for ISS; and Ken Alexander for Tourism. Committee rosters for finance, personnel, sheriff liaison, highway, nonprofit and major projects were similarly set by motion and voice vote.
A councilor noted there were no applicants for a new Arcadia economic development board seat and said staff will keep the application portal open and promote the vacancy on social media.
The meeting proceeded with routine business, and the council adjourned after announcements and holiday greetings.
