The Hampshire County Commission approved moving the remaining balance from an ARP radio update allocation into the county EMS building project.
County staff explained that ARP‑funded radio purchases and associated work were largely complete and that an excess balance remained in the ARP 03 radio allocation. Speaker 6 requested $8,000 for radio replacements and raised the possibility of a security camera system at the EMS facility; staff reported the overall remaining funds in the account were available for reallocation.
After discussion about equipment obsolescence and department needs, Speaker 1 made a motion to reallocate the remaining ARP radio update funding back for use on the EMS building. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Commission staff indicated they would document the reallocation and proceed with procurement and budgeting consistent with ARP rules and the county’s procurement process.
