Board approves routine items, agrees to tunnel engineering study and tables security-service renewal

The Board of County Commissioners voted on several routine and project items during its final 2024 meeting.

Accounts payable docket: A motion to approve the accounts payable docket was made and passed by recorded "Aye" votes from commissioners present.

SJC Connector Tunnel engineering agreement: Bree Roberts, procurement director, described moisture and groundwater issues in three tunnels connecting the county-city building to adjacent facilities and presented maps provided by DLZ. The board approved an engineering agreement and addendum with DLZ to investigate and recommend corrective work.

Per Mar Security Services renewal: The board agreed to table the Per Mar Security Services renewal due to questions about legal wording in the agreement; the motion to table passed.

Building assessment with Avon Marsh: The board approved a contract and addendum with Avon Marsh to perform an in-depth facility assessment of the former American National University building; final results were described as expected in January 2025.
