Council accepts 2025 municipal election calendar and early‑voting schedule

The Committee on Finance and Salaries accepted the 2025 municipal election calendar and the proposed early‑voting schedule, following a communication from the director of elections.

The director of elections informed the committee that the 2025 city election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, with a preliminary election, if necessary, on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025. The director noted that when the council allowed six days of early voting previously, it resulted in 796 in‑person early ballots cast during the city preliminary election cycle.

Committee members moved to accept the calendar and early‑voting dates; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

Next steps: Once approved dates are finalized, the elections office will advertise the calendar on the city website, in the local newspaper and through other channels as described by the elections director.
