Atascosa County commissioners on Dec. 30 approved several administrative housekeeping items intended to clarify procedures and scheduling for 2025. The court approved clarifying language in the county's vacation benefits policy to streamline eligibility and to resolve discrepancies between anniversary-date and calendar-year language; the change takes effect Jan. 1, 2025.
The court also approved an order setting the Commissioners Court terms and dates for 2025 and adopted rules and procedures governing meeting conduct and decorum for the new year. Commissioners noted the changes only adjusted dates and clarified existing language; motions to adopt the vacation policy revisions, the 2025 terms and the rules of conduct were moved by Commissioner Gillespie, seconded and approved by voice vote.
What happens next: the county will implement the clarifying vacation-policy language effective Jan. 1, 2025 and the clerk will distribute the 2025 court schedule and updated rules to staff and the public.
