The Lennox City Council voted Dec. 23 to authorize change order No. 1 and to approve pay application No. 2 (final) for the city's slurry-seal project with Asphalt Surfacing Technologies.
City staff described the change order as a cost reduction (about $19,500) related to adjustments in concurrent work on the Meadows project and recommended separate motions to authorize the mayor to sign the change order and to approve the final pay application. Council approved both motions by roll call.
Staff stated the final payment for the project is "just under $6,000"; the change order and final pay application conclude the city's work with the contractor for this phase. Councilors noted smaller-than-expected overages in some areas and expressed satisfaction with the contractor's work.
The motions were approved by recorded roll calls during the meeting.
