The Michigan City Board of Public Works and Safety approved on Dec. 1 a forestry services contract with Great Lakes Urban Forestry through Dec. 31, 2025, with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $100,000.

Attorney LePage and board members praised consultant Mr. Graff, who has supported the city’s federal grant work and daily tree needs. During the discussion the board cited satisfaction with Graff’s services; Mr. Graff, speaking online, said he prioritized helping the city through the federal grant and appreciated the work.

The contract includes an hourly consulting rate of $125 for Mr. Graff, as stated during the presentation. The board voted unanimously to approve the contract.

The city will continue to use the consultant to support grant implementation and urban forestry operations under the contract’s fiscal cap.
