The Greater Johnstown School District held its reorganization meeting and administered the oath of office to newly elected directors, certified election results and completed officer elections and appointments.
Board members read a municipal election certification and sworn statements as new directors took the oath "that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania" and to "discharge the duties of my office of director, Greater Johnstown School District, Cambria County with fidelity." The board then proceeded with nominations and a voice vote to select both president and vice president.
The board unanimously appointed Bruce Jordan to a two‑year unexpired term to fill a vacancy after nominations and a roll call vote were conducted. The board also nominated and approved Ronald Repack as the district solicitor and established the solicitor fee. The board adopted its 2026 regular meeting calendar, scheduling most meetings for the first Tuesday of each month (with specified exceptions) at the district administrative office on Juan Casparilla Plaza; meetings begin at 5 p.m.
The reorganization actions were procedural and took place alongside routine committee assignments and agenda amendments. The board amended the agenda to add BO 23‑25, a request for Pennsylvania Department of Education notification and approval to reopen the former Garfield School building for student enrollment and operations pending completion of rehabilitation work.
The board concluded the segment of the meeting dealing with oath, officer elections and appointments and moved on to committee items and personnel matters that were addressed later in the meeting.
