Grant County commissioners on Dec. 1 approved a slate of routine financial items and several procurement and contract actions, including a reassessment services agreement and authorization for emergency medical services to pursue new cellular and tracking services.

The board ratified prior claims dated Nov. 24, 2025, and approved current claims dated Dec. 1, 2025, with the meeting record showing a general fund payment of $407,532.37, other funds of $793,799.96 and a highway payment of $8,815.41 for a grand total of $1,210,147.74. Commissioners also ratified payroll number 24 with gross payroll listed at $718,204.30 and approved minutes from multiple prior sessions (10/14/2025, 10/20/2025 and 11/03/2025).

The board recorded yes votes on a series of new-business motions: authorization for the highway department to proceed with purchasing four dump-truck bodies and associated hydraulic systems and plows from WA Jones (the lower of two quotes presented), approval to accept the lone bid and proceed with a contract from Nexus for property reassessment services (a four-year engagement quoted at $360,000 total, $90,000 annually), authorization for EMS to transition select ambulance cellular, tablet and tracking services onto AT&T/FirstNet (with an estimated net increase of about $40 per month under the higher-end tracking option and a $1,500 trade-in credit), approval of a pass-through donor fund agreement with the Community Foundation of Grant County for economic development donations, authorization to provide notice to the current cleaning contractor and solicit quotes for cleaning services, approval adding Dec. 26, 2025 as an additional county holiday, adoption of the 2026 commissioners meeting calendar, and permission to solicit vehicle quotes for commissioners’ funds. The board also voted to table appointments to certain boards for 2026.

Several motions were made and seconded on the record (frequently by Commissioner Stewart with Commissioner Poling providing seconds); the minutes reflect unanimous voice votes where recorded. When presenting the reassessment services, staff described the scope as covering trending and ratio studies, sale validation, field reviews and appeals support; the Nexus engagement was presented as the same vendor the assessor has used, with the assessor’s office advising that the vendor had been used in prior cycles.

The meeting also included reports from emergency management (EMA) and central dispatch, which outlined winter-storm response and a recent month in which dispatch handled more than 10,000 calls. The health department acknowledged a Nov. 20 food-distribution event that served 266 families with 532 boxes.

The board recessed until its next regular meeting on Dec. 15 at 10:00 a.m.
