At its Nov. 13 meeting, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners approved a series of contract and grant items brought forward by staff, including sponsorships, service contracts and grant amendments.

The board approved a $3,000 sponsorship request from CADIC to support kickoff celebrations for the county 250th anniversary in January 2026. Melissa Calvonelli presented a new contract with Midtown Legal Services to provide appointed counsel in guardianship cases following a pilot program; she clarified the timeline and that the listed figure reflected an annualized amount rather than only a three-month period.

Stephanie Williams requested an amendment to a DCNR grant tied to the county's land partnerships plan to add two implementation items: an update to the Conodoguinet Water Trail guide and interpretive signage at Mount Holly Marsh Preserve. The two tasks were estimated at $10,849 with a required 50% match (roughly $5,400) proposed from Act 13 funds; commissioners approved the request and an extension to complete the work.

Other approved items included a yearly homestead postcard and invitation processing addendum (Robin Bridal) covering roughly 57,000 postcards and 27,000 invitations (100% reimbursed by the school district), a hotel-tax software vendor name-change and negotiated $1,000 price reduction for the treasurer's office (Katie Eisley), and a state vector-control (West Nile) grant application with an amount similar to the prior year (John Bittner).
