The City of Kirkland will hold a Council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with a required public hearing on the Houghton Village development plan, city podcast hosts said.
Jim Lopez and David Wohlbrecht told listeners the public hearing is required by the city's comprehensive plan and that the development plan itself does not authorize specific redevelopment at this time. The hosts said the council is expected to consider adopting the plan at its Dec. 9, 2025 meeting.
The hosts also summarized other items scheduled for council review: a briefing on a potential temporary regional booster pump station to address water pressure in the Upper Highlands neighborhood, an update on rezoning for the Michaels and Goodwill sites in the Juanita neighborhood, and discussion of the preliminary property tax levy adoption ordinance. Before the business agenda, the hosts said a 5:30 p.m. special meeting will consider a Kraken partnership proposal, the 2026 legislative agenda resolution and a possible parks property acquisition.
The city streams council meetings on YouTube, Facebook and the city website, the podcast noted. Residents were encouraged to watch or attend the hearing and to follow the posted agenda for details.
