Prairie View A&M Extension pitches small-business and workforce programs in Potter County
Summary
Prairie View A&M Extension assistant program leader Natrius Peterson briefed the court on community and economic development programs — including small-business development, youth entrepreneurship, workforce development and homebuyer education — and offered county staff materials and contact information for partnership.
At the meeting, Prairie View A&M University Extension's community and economic development unit introduced work it plans to expand in Potter County.
Natrius Peterson, assistant program leader for the CED unit, said Prairie View A&M Extension will offer research-based resources focused on small-business development, youth entrepreneurship, workforce development and home-buyer education. He introduced local champions Donna Dorman (2024 SBA small-business community champion) and Myron Sims and offered branded materials and contacts so county staff can follow up.
Peterson said the extension looks forward to expanding impacts in Potter County and invited commissioners to reach out to local agents for more information; the court agreed to allow the group to distribute materials and take a photograph after the presentation.
Next steps: commissioners and staff were provided contact information and materials; the extension will follow up with county staff and program partners.
