Summary
The commissioners approved purchase of MaintainX maintenance-management software for up to $13,420 to cover implementation and 14 user licenses for the maintenance and housekeeping teams; county officials said licenses can be added later if needed.
Wichita County Commissioners voted Nov. 18 to purchase the MaintainX maintenance-management software for the county maintenance department, approving up to $13,420 to cover initial implementation and 14 user licenses.
Supporters said the system will create work orders, help track recurring maintenance on larger building systems (HVAC units, rooftop equipment), and show parts and labor history to guide replacement decisions. Commissioners discussed license counts and per-license cost (about $787.80 per additional license) and debated whether every housekeeper needs an individual license or whether supervisors and technicians should be the primary users.
Commissioner Beauchamp moved to approve the purchase; Commissioner Mahler seconded. The court recorded the motion as carrying 5-0. County staff said the 14 licenses are intended to cover 12 maintenance positions plus room for jail and IT access if needed; additional licenses can be purchased later if demand grows. The county will measure the software’s value by tracking whether it reduces repetitive maintenance spending and improves asset-replacement timing.
