Gunderson told council the FC mini pitch start has been pushed back because of weather and is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 24; he estimated the work will take "about 3 to 4 weeks." He also listed two near-term events: a mural reveal on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. and a ribbon-cutting at Valley View on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
On operations, Gunderson proposed a centralized customer service station to provide residents a single point for information, payments and permits and requested council authorization to buy office furnishings for the space. "I want a centralized spot so when people walk in, they're greeted by that customer service station," Gunderson said. He proposed using leftover economic-development funds to cover the purchase and asked council to authorize up to $20,000 for furniture. Councilors asked for multiple vendor quotes and cost estimates for potential future remodeling before proceeding with large expenditures.
