SBCWAY Solutions president Sean Flood addressed trustees during public comment to thank staff and reiterate SBCWAY’s interest in continuing franchise services. Gavin told the board the village received three waste-hauling proposals (SBC, Groot and Flood Brothers) and will likely bring a recommendation in December or January.
During the public-comment portion of the Nov. 13 meeting, Sean Flood, president of SBCWAY Solutions, thanked village staff and trustees and encouraged the board to consider SBCWAY’s RFP response as the village evaluates new waste-hauling arrangements.
"We officially kicked off lead vacuuming service this week with you guys," Flood said, and he described SBCWAY’s prior help to the community after a tornado, the company’s growth from village work and its ability to respond directly to residents. He told the board SBCWAY will report daily productivity to Public Works and that residents can reach him directly with questions.
Earlier in the meeting, Gavin said the village had received three proposals for a new waste-hauling agreement — from SBC, Groot and Flood Brothers — and that staff and an ad hoc committee are reviewing them. He said the board would likely receive a recommendation by the January meeting but, if ready sooner, staff would bring it in December to allow time for a smooth provider transition.
The board did not take a formal action on the waste-hauling contracts at the Nov. 13 meeting. No formal scoring or recommendation was recorded in the transcript; Gavin said staff and the ad hoc committee are reviewing proposals and will return with a recommendation.
